The accused has been sending him obscene and threatening messages for over a year.
Former adviser to the Chief Minister of Bihar Nitish Kumar, and present Rajaya Sabha MP from Janta Dal, Pawan K Verma has lodged an FIR with the Delhi police that he has been receiving threat message from someone on twitter.
A police source said that Verma, complained to the Delhi police but no FIR was lodged. The accused continued to harass him on the social networking site and Verma again had to approach the Delhi Police.
“Second time he approached the Delhi police Commissioner Amulya Patnik who asked the cyber cell to look after the entire matter and finally a case was lodged,” the source said.
Verma, who also had been an Indian Foreign Service (IFS) official, told the cops that earlier he ignored the threat message, that was being received from a particular account. But as the accused continued to harass him on social networking site, he decided to take the help of the Delhi Police. The source said that Verma was receiving threat message from an account in the name of one “Skdas00S” for the past one year. The police have taken the screen shots of the obscene messages for the purpose of the investigations.
“The account is being handled by one S Das. Our investigations suggest that the accused has been hiding in Gorakhpur in UP. He has sent numbers of obscene pictures to Verma and threatened him of dire consequence. The accused has also sent obscene lyrics of famous Hindi songs to Verma,” the police said. The police said that they have formed a team of elite police officials to look after the matter. The police have reportedly informed the UP Police about the matter and are taking their help. “I have been getting exceptionally abusive and threatening messages from a twitter handle ‘Skdas00S’. I would be grateful if the culprit is traced and necessary action taken under law against him or her. I would be also grateful if I am kept informed about the developments,” this is what Verma has mentioned in the complaint, the police source claimed. The police said that they have registered an FIR under sections 294(B) (sings, recites or utters any obscene song, ballad or words, in or near any public place), 504 ( Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace) and 507 ( Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The investigations in the matter are on. No arrests have been made so far.
